Dentistry has advanced to a point where total mouth reconstruction is not only possible but can also be tailored to address a wide variety of oral health issues, offering transformative results.
Have you experienced multiple tooth extractions? Or perhaps you’re facing issues like bone or gum recession? These are just some of the conditions that modern restorative dentistry can address with lasting and natural-looking solutions.
Implants as a Versatile Solution
Dental implants have become the cornerstone of restorative dentistry, providing robust, functional, and aesthetically pleasing replacements for missing teeth. Once anchored into the jawbone, they serve as the foundation for everything from single-tooth replacements to bridges and anchored dentures. Learn more about the versatility of dental implants here.
Addressing Complex Oral Health Challenges
Our approach at Weston Spencer DDS – Conservative Comprehensive Dentistry is to provide customized care that meets each patient’s unique needs. Take, for example, the story of “Margaret.” At 67, Margaret had battled cancer, and her radiation therapy had caused extensive soft tissue damage, accelerating tooth decay. Most of her back teeth had been extracted, four front teeth were broken, and her gums had receded, revealing the metal bases of her old crowns.
With bone recession complicating her case, we first performed bone grafts to create a stable foundation for her implants. Margaret ultimately received eight implants to secure partial dentures for her back teeth, while her front teeth were restored with a combination of porcelain crowns and veneers. Additionally, gum grafts protected exposed roots, reducing sensitivity and protecting against further recession.
The result? Margaret regained a beautiful, stable smile that enhanced her confidence and eliminated the hassle of shifting dentures.
Many of our patients, like Margaret, present with complex cases involving multiple dental needs.
